Saturday morning Cooking Club run by our own Beverley Glock, The Times' and BBC Radio Oxford Family Food Expert.

The Club will be run from Beverley's lovely farmhouse kitchen in Princes Risborough and each week the children will make a different dish (mixture of sweet and savoury dishes using season fruit and veg where feasible).

9.45-11am - for ages 13-18 years - this class is suitable for young adults wishing to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Awards

11.30am-12.45pm - for mixed ages 5-12 years.

If any class is full children and teenagers can book onto the mixed age session and go onto the waiting list. 11.30am-12.45pm - for mixed ages 5 years upwards. If the classes show as 'sold out' we operate a waiting list so please email [email protected] with your details.

The children make the same recipes at each class but the younger children get a little more help. The will learn cooking techniques, explore different foods, run food experiments and take part in tastings. In the Spring term from January 2018 we'll be using winter fruit and vegetables and will be making:

Mulligatawny soup

Almond slices

Gnocchi

Fortune cookies

Flowerpot cakes

Asparagus and blue cheese tarts

and other delicious recipes

The children will bring recipes home with them each week to put into their very own Recipe Folder. The Club will run for one hour 15 minutes each week, the children will bring home the goodies they have made each week as well as learning how to wash up and clean away afterwards, an essential part of cooking (!). All ingredients and utensils will be provided.

The course is booked termly in advance at the reduced rate of £15 per week but we're happy for children to join midway through the term or on a 'drop in' basis if there are spaces, this is at the weekly rate of £15. If you would like your child to 'try' out the course for one week then the charge will be £20, please call the office to discuss and check availability prior to booking.

The autumn term will run for 11 weeks from Saturday 16 September to Saturday 9 December with no class on 21 and 28 October.

The spring term will run for 9 weeks from Saturday 13 January to Saturday 25 March with no class on 10 or 17 February

Please note - if this class is full do get in touch as we do operate a waiting list for Saturday morning cooking clubs, please do register your interest if you'd like your child to go onto the list. If Beverley is unavailable due to other commitments another member of the team will run the workshop if feasible.
