Beverley doesn’t do ‘phaffing’ about food. Life is too short.

Beverley is an expert on children’s and family cookery.  Beverley encourages children to learn about food, where it comes from, how it grows, how it’s transformed into the food we eat on the table whilst building in the science, maths, geography, history and languages as part of the fun.

Her cookery school, cooking parties company and on line store launched in 2001 – Splat Cooking now has 5 cookery schools around the country and Beverley presents her own show on web based TV channel Bucks TV, is BBC Oxford’s resident Feeding the Family Expert and she writes for numerous magazines as well as appearing round the country presenting, demonstrating and as Master of Ceremonies at various Food Festivals.  She is most recently the spokesperson for Philips AirFryer campaign and put together a number of recipes and podcasts to help parents deal with fussy eating in children.

Beverley’s first book – 500 Baby and Toddler Foods -was published by Apple Press in September 2011 and is available in the UK, USA, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, it’s been such a success that it’s due for publication in French, Italian and Dutch in February 2012.  Beverley’s first APP ‘Cupcakes, Muffins and Afternoon Tea’ launches in Spring 2012.

She always has, and always will love cooking.  After a high flying career in the City, she decided there must be more to life and in 1999 with baby number two on the way; Beverley quit city life to raise her children.

But retirement didn’t last long; Splat Cooking was launched in 2001, borne from Beverley’s eldest daughter’s desire to have a cooking party for her 5th birthday.  Splat began by selling a small range of products as a DIY Cooking Kit.  But it was Nigella Lawson’s mention of Splat in her book ‘Feast’ that put the company on the map and gave Beverley the financial backing to put together a team to do what she is really passionate about – encouraging children to cook.

Her new-found expertise led Beverley to a weekly column for The Times’ Body and Soul and Times Online Children’s Food Expert Column.  She also makes regular television and radio appearances as well as writing for a number of online and print family magazines including eparenting.com and raisingkids.com.  With her ‘Celebrity Chef’ hat on, Beverley also gives demonstrations and acts as Master of Ceremonies at food festivals including Foodies Festivals, Oxford Castle Food Festival, The Henley Food Festival, The Yorkshire Game Fair and The Chiltern Food Festival with lots of other events coming up.  Beverley and her team are regulars at The Children’s Food Festival and other Food Festivals running their pasta-making workshops for children and Beverley has just filmed her second series of children’s cookery shows as the BucksTV resident celebrity chef

The adults aren’t left out, Beverley is always developing recipes for families that are quick and easy to prepare and taste great, focusing on Thai, Indian and Chinese food with a healthy take on traditional recipes.

Beverley is 46 years old, married to the wonderful and long-suffering Peter with three scrummy children aged 15, 12 and 9 who are great taste testers and a two dogs called Jasper and Sidney who’d love to be involved in taste tests – but aren’t!

It’s not rocket science, it’s food!
